How to Transfer MTN to MTN Data in Ghana

How to Transfer MTN to MTN Data in Ghana

Have you ever wanted to send some of your mobile data to a friend or family member on MTN? Maybe your sibling ran out of data while streaming their favorite show, or your best friend just needs a little extra for WhatsApp. If you’re wondering how to transfer data from MTN to MTN in Ghana, here’s the deal—you can’t. But don’t worry, there’s still a way to help!

Wait… MTN Data Transfer Isn’t Available?

That’s right. MTN Ghana no longer allows direct data transfers between users. It might sound disappointing, especially if you’ve done it in the past, but MTN has made sure there’s still a simple way to share data with others. Instead of transferring, you can buy data bundles directly for someone else. It works just as well, and the best part? It’s super easy.

How to Buy Data for Another MTN User in Ghana

Think of it as buying airtime for someone, but instead, you’re sending them data. Whether your friend needs a small bundle for a quick internet check or a big package for heavy browsing, here’s how you can do it:

Method 1: Using USSD Code (138#)

This is the fastest way to send data. Just follow these steps:

  1. Dial *138# on your phone.
  2. Select “Proceed to Buy Bundle.”
  3. Choose “Buy Data Bundle.”
  4. Select option 2 to buy for someone else.
  5. Enter the recipient’s phone number and confirm it.
  6. Pick the data bundle you want to buy.
  7. Confirm your selection.
  8. Choose your payment method (MoMo or airtime balance).
  9. If you’re using MoMo, enter your PIN when prompted.
  10. You’ll receive a confirmation message once the purchase is successful.

Easy, right? Now, your friend has data, and they can keep browsing without interruption!

Method 2: Using the MyMTN App

If you prefer using an app instead of dialing codes, MTN has got you covered.

  1. Open the MyMTN App (Download it from the Google Play Store or App Store if you don’t have it yet).
  2. Log in with your MTN number.
  3. Navigate to the “Buy Data” section.
  4. Choose “Buy for Others.”
  5. Enter the recipient’s phone number.
  6. Select the data bundle you want to purchase.
  7. Choose your payment method and confirm.
  8. That’s it! The data will be sent instantly.

MTN Data Bundles You Can Buy for Others

MTN Ghana offers different types of data packages you can gift to friends and family:

  • Standard Data Bundles – These are your regular data packages that work for browsing, social media, and streaming.
  • MTN Mashup – The MTN Mashup bundle is a combination of data and voice minutes. Perfect if the person needs both internet and call time.
  • AFA Bundle – The AFA Bundle is a combination of data, voice minutes, and SMS. Ideal for people who love texting and calling as much as they browse.

FAQs About MTN Data Transfers

1. Can I transfer my MTN data bonus to another user?

Even though MTN Ghana no longer offers direct data transfers, you can still help your loved ones stay connected by buying data for them. It’s quick, easy, and just as effective. Next time a friend runs out of data, you’ll know exactly what to do!

So, go ahead—be the hero your friends and family need. Happy browsing!
